It’s been almost three years since I started writing in any serious capacity, so I suppose it’s time to finally work on a blog. Although, there might not be much exciting happening… yet.

Let’s start with the basics of what to expect, shall we?

The primary purpose of this blog will be to chronicle my seemingly neverending projects, provide updates on them (when there is one), and occasionally offer some unsolicited advice. I hope to have a healthy mix of all three, but no doubt it’ll end up like uneven cocktail.

If you stick around (or are reading this from the future), you’ll read alot about my main project, Downdraft. That’s my work in progress high fantasy adventure novel about a snarky almost-human who finds the root of all creation. It started as something to stave away the bordem during NaNoWriMo 2020, but has now developed into something more. I’m currently on draft three, which will hopefully be the final one before line editing!

Updates might occur if I make incredible progress, or if one of my short stories finally achieves a form I’m happy with and gets published somewhere. I hope to be able to provide an update on a story called ‘Detection’ soon, but that depends on how many submission emails I send out. Otherwise, I’ll lament about the five others I have on the backburner. Maybe one day I’ll edit them. One day…

Finally, I hope to be able to provide some advice. I’m by no means an expert, but I sure as hell want to make writing easier during those tear-your-hair-out sessions. Some of it will be serious, some it of it won’t be, but hopefully it’ll all be useful. At the very least, it’ll be funny to witness me trying to explain concepts I know worryingly little about, so why not stick around?

That’s the rough plan of what to expect, but who knows how things will work out. Stick around if you’d like to have a read, and get in touch if you’re bored. You’ll find I’m just as bored and ready to reply.
